Basic to Intermediate - July 26, 2009

There were 3 participants for this session; Ameran, Jamal and Rafi. Rafi came all the way from Batu Pahat to attend this course! By the looks of it, all of them love portraiture...it shows in their photos! And they were all using kit lens ONLY! You guys rock!

HDR - From a single JPG

I have been told that in order to do HDR, we need multiples or at least 3 RAW files of the same image. Or that JPGs wouldn't be good enough due to dynamic range issues. Maybe this example of mine had "enough" dynamic range, who knows...lol!
This photo was taken during the Cyber-Shot show held recently at the AEON JUSCO Tebrau City, JB.
The other photo is from the Bob's Homestay Resort assignment, a main attraction of the resort.

What I did was to Open the JPG under Camera Raw of CS3, then changed the Mode to 16Bit and Saved it under .TIFF.
Then I opened it in Photomatix Pro, the similar process under my HDR How To's...
It looks like a pretty decent conversion to HDR, doesn't it?

Nikon CLS Class in JB by Nikonian Academy

Last Sunday, April 20th, 2008, Nikonian Academy had its first class in JB at Sri Malaysia Hotel. The class was on Nikon CLS and we had a full house! We had a blast of a time and even the rain didn't dampen our enthusiasm! We had to resort to indoor shooting and creativity was abundant! Good job, guys!

We would like to thank Y.M. Tengku Jamilah ( owner of Sri Malaysia, JB ) for being an exceptional host and providing excellent hospitality during our event there.
And thanks to Aniz, the model, who is a wonderful model to work with.
